Can't wait to see the update, I want to ground egress from my plane and walk around.

I think the little things are magic in DCS. Many people complain about all of the shortcomings that really aren't shortcomings for DCS. They're just fluff for other video games. For me it's what you do with DCS in your teamwork experience.

Yes and no. So, if you get a ButtKicker and use third-party software, you can dial it in more precise. For DCS and HaptiConnect software that comes with BK, the runway is textured but no "Thud" when you land, nor is there any crash dynamic. I'm still pressing ED and Guitammer to work together to get the data points loaded and plugged into the HaptiConnect Software. The beta launch of the DCS Plugin is just a year old this month.

Yes! I listened to this on my stereo headphones on the PC and the "boom" at the very end was pronounced. But on my phone and tv not so effective.

Australian engineer/pilot, "Hiro"'s book....having to carry the prototype zero on an Ox cart wings on one cart , fuselage on the other, with man walking out front ,40 miles on foot to the test airfield ,....Hiro , wrote he was amused that this aircraft was 400 Mph doing walking speed over cobbled stone path to reach the airfield...........test pilots deaths& causes is worth reading,... Education is free if your mind is open to learning your history,........Hiro said she was a samurai sword for the air , .....", To these boys who have rebirth this zero, History wrote the story but you guys have put the soul back into the skies, where it belongs , keep doing the awsome work ....the public is catching up on there history ..and renactments..............Hiros words on the subject of kamakazi in his book, really show ,his personal feelings of how he felt about his team's work used in that way .........he didn't like it at all..sad day for him ............keep going gents ,......do the uniforms and hanger next .....period ....... contact Mitsubishi they are very helpful, and open minded.

That would be cool!!! I reached out recently to my developer contact with ED and recommended. They also add the white markers on the refilling hose for MPRS

My favorite helicopter and I would love to join an Apache training course in DCS.

I'm thinking it's depending upon client graphics settings possibly when it comes to the amount of movement, or might not be.

Admittedly, this has over 200 original zero parts on it but they have had to improvise. The engine is from a DCS 3 and several parts/airworthy components were adapted from existing fighters to make it safe. Unfortunately, Mitsubishi records and drawing are scarce and many didn't survive the war.

I don't really know, everyone I know uses DCS Standalone for the benefits.

I have all of the maps up through South Atlantic and I love Syria. I'm not a video gamer, so I think that the Nevada map is the best map in DCS world because it's where the real big kids train for warfare. 🤪 Maps are like modules, you'll find something you like or hate with them all. The real problem with most of the challenges people have enjoying DCS is that most of them came over here because they thought it was a video game.

The helmet of the pilot does move around as I move around with head tracking now, I think the smoothness or Fidelity of it really depends on the client user settings on level of detail. Kind of like the outside train looks different for people in different settings.

It's for the outside view when people are looking over at you and formation. Even if you have shift with the pilot in you, can't see your helmet.

I think it has to depend on your settings level to see that movement where is guys with lower and rigs have to turn their settings down for performance, and if you have them cranked all the way up and have enough processing power, you'll see the movement animations. It's kind of like in the Apache with the equipment hooks in the cockpit.

I usually only turn mine on when I'm taking a picture of something in the cockpit to make it look like the pilots in there, but for the most part, I leave it off so I can see all my switches and engages when I look around

Think it's just an unrestricted cockpit camera they use for the trailers. If you look completely left/right and pause then skew the camera to it's extremities you can see the head model pop back when you're in the Hornet.

Exactly, DCS really isn't a video game like the others portray in this regard. I feel some of the frustrations within the DCS community stems from the expectation of such. The fact is, Digital Combat Simulator is in its name. All of the others are just games.

Naahh, that would actually improve the gameplay. And ED is only interested in attracting more fresh players that will bring more money with beautiful promotion videos.

The destructible trees would be nice but not really needed. But don't crash into them 😀

I'm not familiar with multiple monitors but RUclips and Google might help.

When you are driving, do you see your legs and hands? Imagine how wrong it would feel if you couldnt. Thats why a lot of us dont like to fly without pilot models

It makes a massive difference if you fly in VR. For me it connects me to the aircraft. An empty cockpit with the controls seemingly moving on there own just kills the immersion. Interestingly, before I got a vr headset I'd never use the pilot model but there was always that disconnect when using a flat screen, even with trackir. I've had the F16 module since day one and since I got vr about a year ago I've not flown it. The best pilot models are Razbams F15 and EDs F18, they have some movement as you turn your head. I saw the pilot model in the Kola trailer and was really impressed.

This is the external flight model pilot only. Hardly any of us fly with the pilot turned on because it's easier to see inside the cockpit without it. But if you look at the external pilot model now you can see old equipment, old mask and not highly detailed graphics.

This is purely the outside pilot model appearance, as if you look at the one now it's not highly detailed graphics and and has the wrong equipment.

That's a good point and with VR people are able to lean forward and see around their body. Imagine if they had some type of suit where you could move your leg and your leg would move in the jet so that you could move it over to the side to see something in the center panel 😀

I checked last night after this little update to see if the pilot model was changed and it has not been changed yet. But I didn't think to look and see if the aircraft livery was in.

I think you are onto something...they really teased that in the Orbx Kola Map video today didn't they? Did you see the helmet bladder hose movement at :10 into this teaser? Some guys complain about the pilot's chunky head movement, but I wonder if you have your settings cranked up, does it move more fluidly. I'll have to test that when I do my Aircrew Flight Equipment review video after this module update comes out. I also am working on having one of my Viper Pilot friends join me for the discussion.

Yep...it's only May 3, still lots more days in the month to go. BTW, someone assumed that the SC updates will need VulkanAPI and that is a rumor only. Stay tuned...we're close to having this.

@Mark_Point, That's a good point and Nick Grey has told me that it is substantial and took 4 times as much resources as they anticipated. He didn't mention VULKAN to me.

@TobyBrampton, thank you for this question. Yes, two actually, including the top guy, Nick Grey. If you skim through the comments on the other SC videos, you'll find a comment or two from him...and in one, he explained how SC took 4 times as much time and resources as they estimated back during initial development. Part of that, I'm sure, is the new game engine enhancements like MT, DLSS, and maybe VULKAN if Mark_Point is onto something about it being needed for that. I was also told, barring any unforeseen, last minute glitches, we'll most likely see a 90% complete product by the end of this month. And if it's delayed again, I'm fine with that. To me, DCS is not a game, but a teamwork training simulator that is always evolving.

True, I need to get my use of the better quality camera. The F4 camera is not the best.

@@AIRWARFAREGROUP If ED linked head movement with VR head movement, it would be a MASSIVE jump for immersion and filming. If they can do it fir stick/rudder it can be done for VR. IMO

Indeed...I see a difference in quality on the F4 cam exterior than I do if you are 1st Person or in a second aircraft first person observing. The real pudding is the functional stuff we can do. The eye candy is minor.

@@AIRWARFAREGROUP How cool would it be if you were in formation and your wingman actually looked in your direction - and began talking on the radio. No simulation/game has that. I agree, a tad more function over form would go a long way.

I was telling one of our main instructors, Chain something exactly like that just the other day. I told him that when I look over it him information. I don't see him sitting at his computer desk at home, he and I are both in the air traveling at 350 kn in close formation And using SRS radios. He's about to introduce me to voice attack for DCS and I'm excited

Depends on your weight according to Jell-O...AB on CV launch is kind of like wearing your ribbons..."Some, None, or All" The guy on CAT 1 was the new noobie and he put in too much AB and kept it in too long. The first guy that shot off on CAT 4 was the cool guy ;^) me.
